There’s a difference between having a dream, and achieving it. Without action, it’s just talk. But sometimes, life gets in the way. Productivity isn’t where it needs to be, procrastination takes the lead, and time management is non-existent. If you want to get control of your priorities and create new habits to keep you on track, then this package is the metaphorical new notebook, fresh pens and pencil case you’ve been looking for.
Sticking with it, or ‘The Motivation Package’
“You can’t start a fire, without a spark”. Fact. But you also can’t keep a fire going without consistent attention and the right conditions. You have the spark, you’ve set the vision, you’ve got the plan….so why is it so hard to keep going?! Have you lost the excitement? Questioning yourself? Wondering why the hell you started all this? Then you need this motivation boosting package to help you keep the faith.
WHAT IS COACHING? GOOD QUESTION.
I believe coaching works because of the power of self-awareness. I think examining ourselves and our choices to understand why we think or behave in a certain way is at the route of being a happier, more effective, and more aligned human being.
But coaching also works because…SCIENCE. Neuroscience to be specific.
Let me explain:
Our brain is full of neural pathways which are our patterns of thought. Once we learn something, we create a neural pathway to keep that learning active as knowledge. The more we use that neural pathway, the stronger and more habitual it becomes.
Most neural pathways we build are useful. For example, once you learn that fire is hot, that knowledge is going to serve you well for the rest of your life. But some thought patterns we form can be less useful. For example, telling yourself you’re not good enough to do something. That’s not a fact, it’s a thought. But if we think it often we strengthen that neural pathway, and start to believe it is the truth.
But the good news is that our brains are also super flexible (gracias neuroplasticity) and your pathways can be changed. HURRAH. Creating new thought patterns means creating new knowledge and beliefs. And you can be in charge of what those are.
Essentially, what you think, you become. Coaching is about helping you think differently and uncover what thought patterns are holding you back. So you can work to change them into better, more empowering thoughts about who you are, where you want to go, and what you want to achieve. Newer, stronger, more positive neural pathways - sorted.
What’s a ‘package’?
A package is four 50-minute coaching sessions. For new clients I’ve found this to be the minimum amount needed to really get to grips with a topic/goal/challenge and give you the space to genuinely make some change. But don’t worry, it’s not a hard stop at four sessions - we’ll just reset the cadence and number for continuing sessions.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
Excellent question! Coaching is for people who want to focus on their future and make progress towards goals. Which means being willing to take responsibility for themselves and their next steps. So, if what you need is to look into the past and talk through, or unpick, prior experiences before you move forward then counselling or therapy could be a better path for you. Or, if what you want is direct advice to follow about your specific situation, then you’re looking for a mentor instead of a coach.
How does it work and how much does it cost?
I charge £40 per hour. With new clients I like to book in a minimum of four sessions to start (so a starting package costs £160). One we have completed this initial package, my rates are more bespoke depending on the number/style of sessions you’re interested in.
